Paint the Town!

Any artist, any age is invited to paint the charming historic village of Old Wethersfield, by the  Wethersfield Neighborhood Arts & Heritage project.  To participate in this event, artists need to register with WAA, by calling the numbers listed---then get out there and paint!  
All artworks must be framed, wired for hanging and delivered to the Academy by August 15th.  First, second and third prizes as well as honorable mentions will be awarded.  An awards reception will be held on August 31st, 6:30– 8:00p.m. at the Wethersfield Academy for the Arts, at the Old Buck Farm, 431 Hartford Avenue, in Wethersfield.  Jurors, Sandra Wakeen and Paul Batch will announce the awards at this time.  All artwork will be displayed and offered for sale with 30% of the sale going to support programs of WAA.  The goal of this event, funded by the Greater Hartford Arts Council, is to strengthen connections among artists and the community and to bring  community awareness to the new Wethersfield Academy for the Arts.

August 17th, and 24th:  Lecture series begins, Exhibition Opening Events - Artist and homeowner presentations by 12 artists of collaborative part of project


August 31st:  Community Exhibition, Awards and Opening Reception 6:30 – 8:00pm
